English is the global language nowadays, so everyone in this world needs to learn English. American culture influences the world deeply. If Chinese becomes the global language, our daily life will be changed a lot. First, we don't have classes to learn English. It is more probable that we only can speak Chinese and we can't speak other languages. There are some positive people will not only learn Chinese while most of us aren't. In this situation, we might be less competitive.
In order to make ourselves be more valuable, we have to prepare more instead of staying in the comfort zone. I can speak Chinese, so I don't have to spend too much time to learn and I can communicate with foreigners. I want to sell things and bring my culture from my country to the world, such as Taiwanese food and slippers.
Becoming a strong language of our country, there are more responsibilities to maintain our habit and contribute to society. It is not very easy to do this well. For me, I want to be a teacher to teach Chinese in other countries. I want to tell all of my students that Taiwan is a beautiful island and they must come someday. They must try many Taiwanese foods.
If Chinese really becomes the global language, I will very excited that we are successful.

People often get lazy in their comfort zone and not willing to learn new things or change. If Chinese becomes a global language, we need to do many efforts to make ourselves more competitive just as you said.

Because all of us know that Taiwan’s situation in international is not that well, if Chinese becomes the global language, the position of Taiwan must be promoted in the meanwhile! 回覆刪除Just a tiny suggestion, I think in your sentence “Becoming a strong language of our country, there are more responsibilities to maintain our habit and contribute to society.” I think perhaps you may use “Becoming a strong language of the world…,” because when Chinese becomes a global language, it will no longer be the stuff in only Taiwan. :)
